Eagles can still add a top free agent (and it's the best one possible)

The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the best (if not the best) rosters in the NFL but it doesn't mean they can't continue to get better. While the Eagles are fortunate to have A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith as two of their three starting wideouts, they could still use some help at the position.

Jahan Dotson was brought in to be a nice depth for the team last year and he wasn't anything to write home about in his first year in Philly, tallying just 19 receptions for 216 yards in 17 games. The Eagles were underwhelmed with him enough to decline his fifth-year option, indicating the writing on the wall as far as his future in Philadelphia.

An improvement to the starting core over Dotson would be free-agent Keenan Allen, who would be an excellent addition to the Eagles offense.

Keenan Allen would be perfect addition to Eagles WR room

Allen, a third-round pick by the Chargers in 2013, spent 11 years with the Bolts before getting traded to Chicago in 2024 where he managed to put together a solid season despite all of the Bears' offensive woes. Allen finished his only season in the Windy City with 70 receptions for 744 yards and seven touchdowns, proving he still has plenty left in the tank.

The knock on Allen is that he's 33, which could be considered "old" for a starting wide receiver and he's also battled injuries in recent years. Well, Allen showed last year that he's still a productive player and he started 15 of 17 games last year, so he was healthy for most of the 2024 regular season.

Dotson isn't a terrible WR3 to have considering the numbers he put up while with the Commanders but if the Eagles are serious about running it back in 2025, a player like Allen would go a long way in helping them reach that goal. At 33, he shouldn't be terribly expensive either.

This feels like a no-brainer move for the Philadelphia Eagles as they try to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
