Eagles CB Darius Slay explains why Packers have 'bright future' with QB Jordan Love

During Sunday night's 44-33 win over the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro cornerback walked away impressed by former first-round pick Jordan Love, who relieved an injured Aaron Rodgers late in the game.

On Slay's "Big Play Slay" podcast this week, he said he believes the Packers have a "bright, bright future" with Love at the helm.

"I ain't going to lie, he low-key looked like A-Rod, like he's been learning a lot," Slay said. "It should be a blessing for him to be behind a GOAT and learning like that at a high level."

Slay said Love has to "wait his time," like Rodgers did when he backed up Brett Favre after the Packers selected him 24th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft. The 10-year veteran also sees a lot of similar on-field traits between Rodgers and Love, which should be good news for Packers fans.

"His time will come, and you can see the gun-slinging mentality he had just like him," Slay said. "With the quick release and the flick, picking the back leg up. He's copy and pasting him for sure, and that's a great player to be copy and pasting from."

Rodgers spent three seasons as Favre's backup before becoming the starter in Green Bay. How long Love will have to wait remains to be seen. However, after receiving such high praise from one of the league's premier cornerbacks, the wait will likely be worth it for the Green Bay faithful.

Albeit a small sample size, Love looked the part behind center Sunday night, finishing 6-of-9 for 113 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown pass to Christian Watson.
