Monday's Super Bowl rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs was one of the most anticipated games of the 2023 NFL season, and it turned out to have massive ratings for ESPN.
It drew over 29 million viewers, making it the most-watched Monday Night Football in 27 years, going all the way back to a Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers game during the 1996 season (which drew more than 31 million viewers).
It is also the most-watched Monday Night Football game since ESPN started broadcasting the games.

It is not hard to understand how this game drew the audience that it did. Not only did it have the appeal of a rematch from an outstanding Super Bowl, but it also featured two of the best teams in the league that also happened to have massive and passionate fan bases.
They were treated to another great game as the Eagles were able to improve to 9-1 with a 21-17 win that included them overcoming a 10-point halftime deficit.
It is somewhat fitting that the Eagles were able to come from behind and erase a double-digit deficit after the Chiefs did that exact same thing to them in the Super Bowl.
Winning a random Week 11 game does not make up for losing a Super Bowl, but it is still a huge win for an Eagles team that is distancing itself in the NFC East race and the race for the No. 1 seed (and bye week) in the NFC.
