So far, Pro Football Focus has included three players from the Philadelphia Eagles on their top 50 list for 2025. The Eagles are about to see a lot more land in the top 20.
PFF announced the latest batch of players between 11 and 20, with the Eagles having three of them land within that range. Starting first with right tackle Lane Johnson at number 19.
"Johnson forms one half of the NFL’s best tackle duo alongside Jordan Mailata, and even at 34, he’s still playing at an elite level. In 2024, he set career highs with 1,190 snaps and an 88.9 PFF grade while allowing just 14 pressures and one sack across 574 pass-blocking snaps. His 85.4 run-blocking grade was his best since 2019, showing no signs of decline as he continues to anchor Philadelphia’s right side."
Three spots ahead of Johnson is wide receiver A.J. Brown, who lands at 16.
"After a stellar three-year run in Tennessee, Brown has cemented himself as one of the NFL’s premier wide receivers in Philadelphia. Since joining the Eagles in 2022, he ranks top-five among qualified receivers in receiving grade, yards after catch, contested catches, explosive plays and missed tackles forced. In 2024, he led the league in receiving grade versus single coverage — a cornerstone of the Eagles’ passing attack during their Super Bowl run. At just 28, Brown is building a résumé that could one day land him in Canton."
To round out the Eagles players, left tackle Jordan Mailata barely missed the top 10 as he was ranked 11th.
"Mailata’s rise from rugby player to elite left tackle reached new heights in 2024. His 95.2 PFF grade led all qualified offensive players and stands as the second-highest single-season grade ever for an offensive lineman, trailing only Trent Williams’ 96.6 in 2021. This isn’t a one-year breakout either—since 2022, Mailata ranks third among tackles in Wins Above Replacement, behind only Penei Sewell and teammate Lane Johnson."
All offseason, PFF has been a big fan of individual players on the Eagles. They have been especially nice to Brown, Mailata, and Johnson.
Brown was PFF's number one ranked wide receiver after finishing with a third consecutive year of over 1,000 yards. Despite it being considered a down year for him, Brown still managed to score high grades at multiple aspects of his game, including being the highest graded short yards receiver between one to nine yards.
Mailata and Johnson have had PFF's attention as well this offseason, as they both were ranked in the top five for offensive tackles. Johnson was number five on the rankings and Mailata was number one.
Not many fans would argue that these three are probably the best players on the Eagles entering 2025 and showed it last year. The debate is whether any of these three guys deserved to be in the top 10.
