Eagles corner Darius Slay sharing 'some tips' with rookie teammate Devonta Smith

Wide receivers and cornerbacks are rivals on the field but Darius Slay is giving rookie receiver Devonta Smith all the help he can. The Eagles cornerback told reporters that he had been giving his new teammate tips in order to help him have as much success as possible against the rest of the league's cornerbacks.

"I'm one of the premier corners in this game (and) been for a long time. I'm just giving him some tips because I want him to be the best he can possibly be," Slay said in an Eagles minicamp conference call. "Anything he wants to ask me, I'll never hide any information from him. My goal is to get them (the wide receivers) better and their goal is to get me better."

Smith is one of the most exciting prospects in this rookie class, as the receiver was an absolute monster for Alabama last season, catching 117 passes for 1,856 yards and 23 touchdowns on his way to winning the Heisman Trophy. He was selected by Philadelphia with the tenth pick with the hope that he would be a valuable weapon for second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts, who he played with at Alabama for two seasons.
