The Philadelphia Eagles notched a huge win on Sunday over the Cowboys ahead of the bye, but lost TE Dallas Goedert for the foreseeable future in the process. The former South Dakota State star suffered a fractured forearm, for which he will undergo surgery on Monday, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

“Sources say he suffered a forearm fracture… and my understanding is he is expected to have surgery, likely as soon as today,” Rapoport shared on Good Morning Football. “The hope is when that happens, he’ll be out for about four weeks. An injured reserve, designated to return candidate. Hope is that he’ll be back sooner, rather than later.”

The Eagles tight end will have an MRI on Monday to determine the full severity of his forearm fracture. Goedert exited the game for some further evaluation in the locker room in the second half of the 28-23 Week 9. He had three catches, gashing to Cowboys defense for 50 yards before he went down hard from a tackle with the defender landing on his arm.

Goedert has been an integral part of the Eagles’ offense for the last six seasons. This year, he’s posted 35 receptions for 360 yards and two touchdowns prior to the Week 9 matchup. He had career highs during the 2021 season with 56 catches, 830 yards and four touchdowns. In his career, the former second-round draft pick has 286 catches, 3,407 yards and 21 touchdowns – all as an Eagle.

Eagles lose linebacker Nakobe Dean to foot injury vs Dallas

The Philadelphia Eagles ruled out starting linebacker Nakobe Dean on Sunday as they led the Dallas Cowboys in the third quarter. Dean suffered a foot injury in the first half that had him visibly upset on the sidelines. After he headed to the locker room early before halftime, the Eagles then ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

Prior to his injury, Dean came up with a big sack on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, which his alma mater celebrated on social media. He earned half a sack on the play, bringing his total to three tackles on the day before his early exit.

Dean hasn’t played every game for the Eagles this season. He had another foot injury earlier in the year that had him on Injured Reserve. In the four other games he has appeared in this season, he has 26 tackles, including two tackles for loss. That was good for sixth on the Eagles defense, despite his absences.
