Eagles' Darius Slay reveals the moment he knew QB Jalen Hurts was 'The Guy'

Ahead of Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the New York Giants, Philadephia Eagles All-Pro cornerback Darius Slay published a post on The Players Tribune . Slay touched on several topics, including the moment he knew quarterback Jalen Hurts was "The Guy."

Slay described how Hurts led the Eagles to a fourth-quarter comeback against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11, overcoming a fumble late by wideout A.J. Brown. Trailing the Colts 16-10 after the turnover, Hurts orchestrated a game-winning drive, capping it with a seven-yard rushing score to seal a 17-16.

"I think everybody who was on the sideline witnessed greatness that day," Slay wrote. "It was like, 'Yeah, I can ride with bruh all day.'"

Slay said Hurts had been impressive all year up to that point, but that day showed the type of composure he could bring when needed, believing the win also brought the team together.

"Man, the energy in the locker room that day," Slay wrote. "We turned some YoungBoy on, and we were in there, jumping around, going wild."

Hurts' late-game magic might've changed the course of the Eagles' season. Not only did the win help the Eagles avoid dropping two straight after an 8-0 start, but the team went undefeated with Hurts under center the rest of the way.

Even though the Eagles carry the No. 1 seed in the NFC, Saturday will be Hurts' most significant test yet, knocking off the Giants for a third time this season.

In two meetings with the Giants, Hurts wasn't especially impressive, completing 62 percent of his passes while throwing for 446 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception. However, the last time Philly played the Giants, a 22-16 Eagles win in Week 18, Hurts was still nursing a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the previous two games.

Heading into Saturday, Hurts appears to be at, or near, full strength. After being limited, Hurts participated fully in practice this week and is no longer listed on the Eagles' injury report
