Eagles Elevate Defender from Practice Squad After Bears Loss

Moore signed to Philadelphia’s practice squad last week after spending the first nine seasons of his career with the Indianapolis Colts. It remains to be seen what Moore’s role will be in Vic Fangio’s defense, but the unit could certainly use some help, especially in the secondary.

Despite being 31 years old, Moore told the Eagles’ website that he still has a lot of gas left in the tank.

“I got a lot more years left in me to go get it,” Moore said. “So glad to be in green and I’m going to give you all I got. . . . I have the fire to play and play at a high level.”

Technically the Eagles need more help at safety than they do at cornerback, but perhaps Moore’s addition will provide the secondary with some added flexibility moving forward, or so Eagles fans hope.

Nick Sirianni is a fan of Kenny Moore

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is already familiar with Moore, as he was the offensive coordinator in Indianapolis for three years while Moore was on the Colts, and he’s a big fan of the veteran.

“I think the world of Kenny Moore, he is a really good football player, really good person, great teammate,” Sirianni said. “Being able to add him to our team is a big deal and I’m pumped about that.

“I love his competitiveness,” Sirianni added. “It was a no brainer when Howie (Roseman) came to me and asked me what I though of the guy.”

Now that he’s been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster, Moore is one step closer to being able to make an on-field impact for Philadelphia.
