Eagles fans can only laugh as NFL tush pushes instant karma on Packers

While the Philadelphia Eagles were celebrating their Super Bowl 59 victory this offseason, the Green Bay Packers emerged as Philly’s biggest hater. After the Eagles ended the Packers season, sending them home in the Wild Card round, Green Bay ran to the league begging for the tush push to be banned. However, the Packers didn’t have enough support, so the league tabled the discussion and the play will remain legal.

That doesn’t mean the Eagles forgot what the Packers tried to do, though, and since the two teams will meet in the regular season, Philadelphia can make them pay. With the official release of the 2025 schedule on Wednesday evening, it’s now clear the Eagles will have an advantage in this revenge game for both teams.

The game will be in Week 10 on Monday Night Football, and while it will take place in Lambeau Field, Philadelphia will have the upper hand. In Week 9, the Eagles will have their bye week, which means they’ll be able to rest and prepare for the Packers, and benefit from having an extra day of preparation. Green Bay on the other hand, would have already had their bye week in Week 5, and will spend Week 9 playing the Carolina Panthers.

Eagles will play Packers after bye week in 2025

It may not mean everything, but it will certainly make a difference. The Eagles are already the best team in the league, so they don’t need many advantages defeating a team they beat twice in 2024, but it’s going to be fun watching a well-rested Philadelphia team dominate the Packers in Green Bay.

After months of complaints about the field in Brazil from last season’s Week 1 matchup, and the Packers talking about how close they were to the Eagles in the playoffs, as well as Green Bay trying to ban Philly’s beloved signature play, Philadelphia can shut the team up on the field. It’d be great if the team just ran the tush push all game en route to a victory.
