Eagles fans can only laugh at Giants overreaction to Jaxson Dart camp INT

The Philadelphia Eagles are already getting busy on preparing for yet another Super Bowl run, while the rival New York Giants are trying to desperately make it to .500 in an attempt to save the jobs of both head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen.

To further that end, the Eagles' big rival made upgrades in both the short-term and long-term as they brought in Jaxson Dart to be the franchise quarterback while letting Russell Wilson hold it down for 2025. In theory, it's a wise strategy. In practice, there are some flaws.

Eagles fans had a good and hearty laugh at Dart's first-ever throw in training camp, which was promptly intercepted and run back for what would have been a pick-six in a real game. The Giants likely didn't like to see Eagles fans cackling on social media, and they have made moves to prevent that.

Giants fans have now banned from videotaping training camp, perhaps in an attempt to make sure that Dart's learning experiences can't be thrown out on social media for the amusement of the Eagles.

While Dart clearly has potential, he comes from an Ole Miss offense that is nothing like the complex nature of an NFL playbook. As a result, the former top recruit will likely spend most of his rookie season nailed to the bench while Wilson goes out there as the early-season starter.

Not only does Wilson have to deal with a desperate coaching staff and a subpar collection of skill position talent outside of Malik Nabers, but the Giants have been saddled with the hardest schedule in the league. All of those factors point to another year in the dumps for the Big Blue while Wilson tries to save his career.

The Eagles, meanwhile, are suffering from an embarrassment of riches in many of the areas where New York is weakest. Unless Wilson finds the fountain of youth or Dart proves his first few struggles in training camp to be an anomaly, Philadelphia will come in ahead of the Giants in the division.

While it's perfectly normal for a rookie quarterback to struggle in training camp, the fact that the Giants don't want any part of the social media landscape getting a look at how Dart is progressing may not be the most glowing sign that his evolution and development as a quarterback is speeding along.
