Eagles fans' celebration of Tush Push ban rejection was taken to whole new level

After waking up to worried minds of the survival level of the Tush Push, Philadelphia Eagles fans rejoiced in victory in the most Philly way possible.

On Wednesday, the NFL owners' meeting rejected the Green Bay Packers' revised Tush Push ban proposal by a 22-to-10 vote. For the league to pass a proposal, there must be at least 24 votes, and the proposal was two votes shy of that.

Thanks to the help of Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie and former Eagles center Jason Kelce, their speeches to the owners before the vote helped get enough votes to stop the proposal. There was a six-team vote swing from when the Tush Push ban proposal was put to a vote in last month's owners meeting.

Many took to social media to celebrate with the Eagles' accounts themselves, showcasing memes and 26-minute videos of the Tush Push on repeat. Some fans decided to step away from the virtual world and physically show their excitement in the play, staying alive.

How one Eagles fan group took the celebration to the perfect extra mile

After announcing the Tush Push ban verdict, the Phans of Philly fan group set up a billboard in Philadelphia. The social media account The Eagle Times shared the incredible eight-word message on the play.

"You tried. We (tush) pushed back. GO BIRDS."

Phans of Philly is an organization that helps Philadelphia sports fans plan trips to see their favorite teams. For over 15 years, the group has helped with travel packages that include bars, hotels, teams, transportation companies, and other organizations.

It's the perfect way to show the NFL space how Eagles fans feel about the move, as the team will be able to continue to use the play that has made them successful over the last few years. In 2024, Philadelphia converted 39 of its 48 Tush Push attempts into first downs or touchdowns, including the postseason.

The Eagles have at least one more year to dominate the line of scrimmage with the Tush Push, and fans have time to celebrate what feels like a second major victory of 2025 after the Super Bowl.
