At the first practice in preparation for their Week 3 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, the Philadelphia Eagles got some good news from tight end Dallas Goedert.
On Wednesday, Goedert was seen on the field suited up for practice, which would be the first time in over a week that he had practiced. Last week, he was out with a knee sprain that kept him out of the Eagles' 20-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Dallas Goedert back at practice today

Good sign for Sunday. I expect him to play
Goedert was the top receiver on the Eagles in their Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys as he had seven receptions for 44 yards. Despite missing one game, he's still third on the team in receiving yards.
The tight ends were basically non-existent in the Chiefs' game as Kylen Granson and Grant Calcaterra each had one reception for a combined 11 yards in the win. While Granson and Calcaterra are nice options, they don't have what Goedert has as a pass catcher.
When Goedert is on the field, he is a force and is arguably Hurts' number-three option. Last year, he had 496 yards and two touchdowns, the touchdowns were a career-low, and the yards were the second lowest behind his rookie season. He also missed a career-high seven games in the regular season.
If Goedert can stay healthy, he has the potential to be a top 10 tight end, but now he has missed 16 games in the last four seasons. It's part of the reason why he took a pay reduction in 2025 to stay with the team.
With Goedert practicing, he looks to be on the right track with playing against the Rams. The hope is that he can move forward and stay healthy the rest of the season. Anymore missed games, and there is a high chance he doesn't come back in 2026.
