A former first-round selection of the Philadelphia Eagles who was cast aside by the Eagles has earned a contract extension from his current team.

On Wednesday afternoon the Los Angeles Chargers announced that its agreed to a contract extension with wide receiver Jalen Reagor. Terms of the contract were not immediately disclosed.

Reagor, selected 21st overall in the 2020 draft, landed in Los Angeles with the Chargers after short stops with the Eagles, Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots.

The 26-year-old provides most of his value on special teams as a kickoff and punt returner. He is a capable third-down receiver, but he eats his lunch while returning kicks.

In eight games with the Chargers, Reagor made two starts and recorded seven catches for 100 yards.

For his career, Reagor has 86 career pass receptions for 1,037 yards and four touchdowns, while adding 97 rushing yards on 22 carries.

The former Texas Christian University star missed the final month of the season with a finger injury but he made an impression with the Chargers and Jim Harbaugh and his staff during his limited time with the team. He has yet to score a touchdown while in the Powder Blue.

In 2023 with the Patriots, he was limited to seven catches and 138 yards, seeing action in only 11 games. He was used mainly as a return specialist in New England.

A native of Waxahachie, Texas, Reagor played three years at TCU. He was predominately used as a punt return and ultimately earned second-team All-America recognition as a punt returner in his final season in Fort Worth, Texas.

He saw action in 39 career games for the Horned Frogs, posting 148 receptions for 2,248 yards and 22 touchdowns along with 324 rushing yards and a pair of scores on 35 attempts.

Reagor returned 23 punts for 409 yards and a pair of touchdowns, both of which were scored in his junior season.
