Eagles' Fletcher Cox criticizes Deebo Samuel after 49ers' Super Bowl loss
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

In the aftermath of the San Francisco 49ers' defeat in Super Bowl 58, Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Fletcher Cox took to Instagram to criticize wide receiver Deebo Samuel, posting, "Keep the EAGLES OUT CHO MOUTH BOE."

He continued, "I still got some you ain't got. Ya!! I been holding this one in son!!!!!"

Cox was part of the Eagles' Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots during the 2017 season. The wait for Samuel continues after two unsuccessful attempts.

The tension between the two players seems to have simmered since their teams last met 10 weeks ago, with the 49ers convincingly defeating the Eagles 42-19. Cox's social media jab suggests that Samuel and the Niners have been on his mind for quite some time.

While it's been 10 weeks since the two teams played, with the 49ers routing the Eagles by a score of 42-19, Cox's social media jab suggests that Samuel and the Niners have been living rent-free in his head for quite some time.

In a recent interview, Samuel was asked about the potential rivalry between the two teams, to which he responded, "I consider rivalries close games. We ain't going to talk about that no more. That's over with."

Despite the Eagles' late-season stumble following their defeat against the 49ers in Week 13, they managed to secure a playoff berth, only to exit in the Wild Card Round with a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
