Nick Sirianni held his end-of-the-year press conference on Wednesday where he discussed his role for 2024 and the Philadelphia Eagles' plans for the future.
During the presser, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Miami Dolphins parted ways with Vic Fangio and that the Eagles are "expected" to make a deal with him for their open defensive coordinator role.
The Dolphins and Vic Fangio have mutually agreed to part ways, sources tell me and @JFowlerESPN. Naturally, a media member in the room used the moment to ask Sirianni about Schefter's latest report.
"We've got a lot of good targets that we're working through," Sirianni said in response to the Vangio report. "And there are a lot of guys that have done really well in our interview process and I look forward to continuing that process. We'll see what happens."
Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is now available. He consulted with the Eagles. Vic wants to move closer to home in PA. Could be Eagles DC according to @AdamSchefter

Here is Nick Sirianni on that pic.twitter.com/eUPlveQhaH
Sirianni is very good at masking what's really going on behind the scenes.
It's also worth noting that general manager Howie Roseman and Sirianni were 30 minutes late to their scheduled 2:30 p.m. ET press conference. Perhaps they were on a phone call with Vangio?
Reports surfaced earlier this week that said the Eagles have already interviewed former Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera and ex-Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell.
Vangio is the obvious better candidate for the job, having coached 10 top-10 defensive units throughout his career.
It also helps that Vangio is already very familiar with the Eagles after he spent last season working with them as a consultant.
Let's hope the Eagles don't fumble the bag on this one.
