Eagles HC Nick Sirianni responds to Micah Parsons-Jalen Hurts drama

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni wants no part of any drama involving Jalen Hurts and Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons ahead of Sunday's game at the Chicago Bears.

"I think the back and forth more has been, from what I’ve seen is like — I mean, no offense, you guys are asking them about it and they’re saying, well a lot of the times I’m hearing what they are saying is we’re focused on the Bears," Sirianni responded Friday when asked about the Parsons-Hurts kerfluffle, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. "So, we don’t take much stock into that. Listen, our job is to get ready for the Bears and that alone. So, we’re solely focused on that. We’re solely focused on what we need to do to win this game. We’re solely focused on doing the things that we can control."

Parsons generated headlines earlier this week when he said during "The Voncast" that's hosted by Von Miller of the Buffalo Bills that a combination of "system and team" is responsible for Hurts becoming a Most Valuable Player candidate this season. On Thursday, Parsons insisted he didn't mean to spark "a s---storm" or disrespect "Hurts or any other player in any way" with his words.

Sirianni didn't take any bait and added on Friday he has preached to his players to "control the things you can control" over the final weeks of the regular season.

The 12-1 Eagles lead the 10-3 Minnesota Vikings in the race for the conference's No. 1 seed and also hold an advantage over the 10-3 Cowboys in the NFC East standings. The same afternoon that Philadelphia plays at 3-10 Chicago, Dallas will take the field at the 5-8 Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Cowboys host the Eagles on Christmas Eve for what could be that Saturday's most interesting matchup for a variety of reasons.
