There has not been a better evaluator of draft talent and value in the NFL over the last three years than Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman.

Roseman's decision-making ability to know when to trade for talent has been remarkable. From his draft day trades for veterans like A.J. Brown and DeAndre Swift to trading up for rookies DeVonta Smith and Jalen Carter, he was even able to select steals in the draft with Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean last year and their first-round pick Jihaad Campbell this year.

Campbell's selection was one of the many picks Roseman made for Philadelphia in the 2025 NFL Draft that has everyone giving him his credit again.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman's 2025 draft selections once again shows his genius

Pro Football Focus writer Dalton Wasserman wrote on his one big takeaway from each NFL team after the NFL Draft. Wasserman kept it simple with saying "Howie Roseman works his magic again."

"Howie Roseman continues to prove he’s a master of draft-day value. Year after year, the Eagles’ general manager finds a way to let top-tier talent fall right into his lap — and 2025 was no exception. This time, it was linebacker Jihaad Campbell, widely viewed as the best at his position, slipping to the 31st overall pick. Campbell earned grades above 75.0 in coverage, run defense, and as a pass rusher last season, showcasing the all-around skill set to step in immediately alongside Zack Baun."

"In the second round, the Eagles added safety Andrew Mukuba, who posted an elite 89.7 coverage grade and an outstanding 26.1% forced incompletion rate, one of the best marks in college football. He’ll be in the mix for a starting role from Day 1."

"Philadelphia also added eight players on Day 3, injecting quality depth across the roster. It’s the kind of calculated, value-driven drafting that has become Roseman’s signature and the reason the Eagles remain in championship contention year after year."

Roseman's selections have produced 10 full-time starters on the Eagles since 2021. Nine of them, with the exception of Milton Williams, are still on the roster. Williams developed into a star on the defensive line and was pivotal to Philly's Super Bowl run this past season.

Campbell and Mukuba are seen as potential day one starters on defense. At the very least, they will receive significant playing time. Fourth-round pick defensive tackle Ty Robinson has a chance to be a rotational player on the line following William's departure.

The youth movement continues to be a focus for the Eagles entering the 2025 season, and the talent they selected in the NFL Draft shows that they have the depth to stay in Super Bowl contention each year.
