The Philadelphia Eagles were in a tough spot this week with all of the injuries ailing the team. Running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver DeVonta Smith were ruled out ahead of Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
With left guard Landon Dickerson on injured reserve and right tackle Lane Johnson retiring, Philadelphia could ill afford more injuries. However, that’s exactly what happened early in the game when running back Will Shipley was sent back to the locker room.
Then the Jaguars had a goal-to-go situation at the end of the first half, and while the Eagles stopped them on fourth down, another key player went down.
Linebacker Jalyx Hunt went down with an injury after his leg got bent backwards, but the extent of the damage and his availability are still up in the air.

Philadelphia has one of the most talented rosters in the league when it is healthy. But the team has had to get creative over the last few weeks with all the players dropping. With edge rusher Jonathan Greenard already out for this game against Jacksonville, the Eagles are running out of pass rushers.
They’ve held their own so far, currently leading the Jaguars 14-10 in the third quarter at the time of this writing, but things are getting harder to manage. Veteran edge A.J. Epenesa has come into the game for Hunt while the team awaits an update on his status. The injuries continue to pile up for a team that was already limping into London this week.
