Eagles Jalen Hurts Disrespected In New Rankings

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off of the second Super Bowl win in the franchise's history, and a big part of that win was some stellar play from their star quarterback, Jalen Hurts.

But some do not believe he is a top-tier field general.

In a recent article by PFF's John Kosko, he ranks all 32 starting quarterbacks ahead of the 2025 season. He splits them up into tiers, with the top tier being labeled "elite", but Hurts is nowhere to be found in that tier.

"Jalen Hurts’ 2024 campaign — capped by an impressive Super Bowl run — was a return to form after a turbulent 2023 season," Kosko writes. "A year earlier, Hurts too often pressed in high-leverage moments and struggled under pressure, but he flipped the script this past season, showing poise and control even when things broke down around him. After a slow start, he found his rhythm and delivered when it mattered most. Over the past three seasons, his 91.5 overall grade ranks fifth among all quarterbacks."

They had nothing but good things to say about Hurts, and yet he was in the tier below the elite-level quarterbacks in the tier called "high-end starters".

You would think a Super Bowl win and four straight seasons of over 600 yards rushing would earn the 26-year-old a better title than a "high-end starter".

But that just means Hurts is going to go into this season looking to prove his doubters wrong and lead the Eagles to defend the Lombardi Trophy.
