Eagles' latest signing prompts fascinating twist to right guard position battle

Another offensive lineman will be enrolling in "Stoutland U" as the Philadelphia Eagles add some talent to the line. On Monday, the team announced they have signed rookie offensive lineman Marcus Tate to a contract. Tate went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and was a part of the Eagles' Rookie Camp in the spring. The former Clemson Tiger was a four-year starter at left guard on the offensive line. Tate started 37 career games and was a second-team All-ACC selection last year. It's a new lineman for Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland to develop, but with an already crowded roster, where does that leave Tate? Could he be a genuine challenger for the open right guard position, or will he be a training camp casualty? Currently at right guard, the position battle is between Tyler Steen and Kenyon Green.
