The Eagles made a series of transactions as they prepare for their Week 5 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
The team added Ogbo Okoronkwo and Charley Hughlett to the injured reserve while releasing linebacker Lance Dixon from their practice squad. Replacing Hughlett for the foreseeable future is former Bengal Cal Adomitis.
Hughlett was sidelined earlier in training camp with a neck injury, leading to Philadelphia signing Christian Johnstone during training camp. Hughlett's agent told ESPN's Adam Schefter that it is a core injury and had successful surgery. His timeline is "within a couple of months."
Adomitis was recently released by Cincinnati in favor of rookie William Wagner at the conclusion of training camp. Now he takes over the Hughlett to try to keep the Eagles' kicking and punting teams consistent, like it has been all season.
Okoronkwo goes on injured reserve after making his 2025 debut. He has confirmed that he has torn his triceps and will most likely be out for the remainder of the season. Okoronkwo only appeared in four snaps for the Eagles this season and is a significant blow to the Eagles' depth.
The Eagles have gone back-to-back weeks of losing edge depth with Nolan Smith Jr. going on injured reserve last week. The Eagles received some good news with Nakobe Dean, who is on schedule to return to practice soon; however, there is no official timetable for his return. Currently on the practice squad, the Eagles do not have any additional edge players on the roster.
With the recent roster transactions, Philadelphia currently has 52 players on the active roster and 15 players on the practice squad, allowing the team to bring in two more players. With recent injuries, the Eagles brought back 2025 draft pick Antwaun Powell-Ryland to the practice squad on Wednesday, who spent time with the team during training camp. The team might also look to elevate a defensive back like Eli Ricks to a permanent spot on the active roster, with injuries to Adoree' Jackson and Jakorian Bennett.
