The Eagles initially activated Evans’ 21-day practice window on Nov. 14. He was limited in practice during his first week back, but his knee injury had kept him sidelined over the last two weeks.
Unfortunately, injuries are nothing new for Evans. He entered the league in 2017 as a second-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has played just 43 games due to an injury-riddled career.
The Eagles initially picked up Evans on a one-year deal in free agency this past offseason as an inexpensive depth piece.
However, he ended up battling Terrell Edmunds, Sydney Brown and K’Von Wallace through training camp and won the starting safety job alongside Reed Blankenship.
In four starts for the Birds this year, Evans logged 14 tackles, two pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
The Eagles traded for All-Pro defensive back Kevin Byard in October, who has since stepped up in Evans' place opposite of Blankenship.
And the Eagles' recent new addition of linebacker Shaquille Leonard will slide into Evans' open roster spot.
