Eagles lose yet another valuable member of the front office

When a team is successful, everyone wants a part of their success. From players to coaches to front office members, NFL teams routinely poach talent from the top teams in the league. The Philadelphia Eagles know that first hand, as they’ve consistently lost players, coordinators, and front office members in recent years. Since winning Super Bowl 59, things have only gotten worse.

It was recently reported that Jordon Dizon, who has served as a national scout for the Eagles the last three seasons, is leaving Philly to join the Denver Broncos as Director of Pro Personnel. Dizon, a former linebacker who played for Colorado, started his scouting career with the Broncos, and now he returns in a bigger role.

This is just the latest departure from Philadelphia’s front office. Just recently, Anthony Patch, who served as the Eagles’ senior director of college scouting since 2016, left to join the Las Vegas Raiders, and Brandon Hunt, Philly’s director of scouting, joined Patch in Vegas. That’s three key front office members that are now with other teams.

While it’s always tough to replace talented individuals on and off the field, the Eagles know that’s the price of success, so they don’t run from the challenge. Despite losing key members of the team’s operation every year, Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni remain in place. As long as they’re both around, Philadelphia is confident it can find adequate replacements and keep the train rolling.

So far, the Eagles have been able to do that. As they embark on a repeat attempt, the good news is most of the roster is still in tact. Philadelphia did lose a few starters, but all of the stars are returning and the Eagles are still the best team on paper in the league. The new front office will have to make sure that remains the case.
