The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a stunning Week 12 collapse against the Dallas Cowboys, squandering a commanding 21-0 halftime lead in one of their most jarring losses of the season. Jalen Hurts accounted for two rushing touchdowns in the first half and found A.J. Brown for another score, but the momentum flipped after the break.
Dallas methodically chipped away at the deficit, capitalizing on Philadelphia’s stalled drives and late defensive breakdowns before sealing the comeback with a 42-yard field goal as time expired. It was the Eagles’ third loss of the season and marked one of the biggest blown leads in franchise history.
The defeat also highlighted the ongoing offensive struggles that have followed Philadelphia throughout the season.
Much of the blame from fans has fallen on offensive play-caller Kevin Patullo, with frustrations mounting over stalled drives, inconsistency, and an overall unit that looks nothing like the one that powered the Eagles to a Super Bowl win in February.
Yet on Monday, head coach Nick Sirianni chose to stand firmly behind Patullo. “I feel like we’ve got the right people … I thought Kevin did a good job yesterday,” Sirianni told reporters, adding that Patullo will remain the team’s offensive play-caller and that he has “not even considered” making a change (via John Clark of NBCS Philadelphia).

Patullo took over as offensive coordinator this season following the departure of Kellen Moore, but the results have lagged. Hurts has struggled to move the ball forward, RB Saquon Barkley has struggled to find consistent running lanes, and the receiving duo of Brown and Devonta Smith have been underutilized for the most part.
Now at 8-3, the Eagles look to regroup in a pivotal “Thursday Night Football” matchup against a surging Chicago Bears team riding a four-game winning streak. Philadelphia will need to respond quickly as the postseason race tightens. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET, with the game airing on Amazon Prime Video.
