The Philadelphia Eagles announced a series of roster moves on Thursday ahead of their Week 13 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Eagles signed linebacker Ben VanSumeren to their 53-man roster. They also signed defensive back Josiah Scott and wide receiver Cam Sims to the practice squad.
In a corresponding move, the Eagles released wide receiver Greg Ward from the practice squad.

VanSumeren, 23, had already been elevated from the practice squad for the last three games, which meant the Eagles had to sign him to the 53-man roster if they didn't want to risk losing him to the waivers.
The move makes sense considering starting linebacker Zach Cunningham is sidelined with a hamstring injury and is not expected to play on Sunday against the 49ers.
The Eagles did meet with former All-Pro Shaquille Leonard on Wednesday, however, a deal was not made as he plans to make his decision between signing with the Birds or Dallas Cowboys over the weekend.
Even if Leonard were to sign with the Eagles before the San Francisco game, he wouldn't play until Week 14 vs. the Cowboys.
