The trade rumors surrounding Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown might finally go away.

On Tuesday night, the Eagles bolstered their wide receiver room by agreeing to terms on a one-year contract with former second-round pick Elijah Moore. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport was first to report this signing.

Moore, the No. 34 overall pick from the 2021 NFL Draft, spent the 2025 season with the Buffalo Bills. He also has experience playing for the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns, hauling in 209 passes for 2,274 yards and nine touchdowns.

Even though Moore isn't a lock to make the Week 1 roster, NFL fans are convinced this signing is proof the Eagles are committed to keeping Brown.

Brown and Moore were teammates at Ole Miss. At the very least, this signing should help fix some chemistry issues in Philadelphia.

"Worth noting Elijah Moore is very close friends with A.J. Brown. They were teammates at Univ of Mississippi," NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe said. "Brown credits Moore for helping him through a period of depression & mental health struggles. Moore credits Brown for mentoring him on the field & brother-like bond."

What did the Eagles want for A.J. Brown?

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo said the Eagles wanted a first-round pick and a second-rounder in return for Brown.

The New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams were mentioned as trade suitors for Brown, but a deal never materialized.

“After serious conversations with both the Rams and Patriots, the Eagles will not trade A.J. Brown at this time, according to multiple league sources,” Dianna Russini of The Athletic wrote. “Both teams remain interested, but no move is imminent. If a trade were to happen, it would likely heat up closer to June 1.”

As of now, Brown is on track to be the No. 1 option in the passing game for the Eagles.
