Eagles offensive line injury update that no fan wants to hear right now

Another day, another offensive lineman injured for the Philadelphia Eagles.

During last week's 34-27 preseason win for the Eagles over the Cincinnati Bengals, left guard Kenyon Green got hurt in the game. Fans now have an update from ESPN's Adam Schefter about the severity of the injury.

Schefter reported that Green is dealing with a shoulder injury and is being looked at on a week-to-week basis. His preseason is most likely done after the news.

This is the second injury update on the offensive line, with Eagles fans being put through the ringer on Monday with Landon Dickerson's meniscus injury updates. Dickerson is scheduled for minor surgery in the coming days and is focused on returning by Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Eagles' offensive line depth is really about to be tested

No one ever roots for injury as fans never want to see them, but if they are going to happen, let it happen in the preseason before the season. It opens the door for young backups to get the playing time needed just in case they are called into action during the regular season.

Last week's unofficial depth chart for the Eagles only had Dickerson and Green at left guard. This most likely means that there will be some shuffling involving Matt Pryor and Trevor Keegan, who are the backups at right guard.

Pryor is a veteran who knows what Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland wants, so that would be a good transition for the preseason. Keegan has had his reported struggles in training camp, but could be his chance to prove his worth and bounce back.,

The Eagles' tackles are four deep on the depth chart, so it could mean some of those guys move to guard as well for the time being. Philly loves linemen who can play multiple positions. Guys like Cam Jurgens have shown that he has played guard and center throughout his time with the Eagles.

Injuries to Dickerson and Green are not ideal, but if they can recover quickly before the season, at least this will give the others the time they need to develop and play in preseason.
