Eagles offensive linemen releasing Christmas album for charity

A trio of Philadelphia Eagles offensive linemen will release a Christmas album titled "A Philly Special Christmas" this holiday season, with all proceeds going to charity.

The album, featuring center Jason Kelce and tackles Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson, will include seven songs according to NBC Sports Philadelphia's Dan Roche.

"Among the cuts on the album are a cover of Darlene Love’s “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town,” and a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” performed by the Voice of the Eagles himself, Merrill Reese. He’ll be accompanied on piano by Zach Miller, who plays keys on another Philly rock band, Dr. Dog," Roche wrote. "The cover of the album is an homage to A Charlie Brown Christmas, the 1965 album by the Vince Guaraldi Trio, featuring cartoon versions of Kelce, Mailata and Johnson under the tree, rather than Charlie Brown, Linus and Lucy."

The album's proceeds will benefit Philadelphia's Children's Crisis Treatment Center with a digital and green vinyl release date of Dec. 23. The album is available for pre-order in late November at APhillySpecialChristmas.com.

The Eagles football team (not the Don Henley-led band) is the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL at 6-0. Johnson, Kelce, Mailata and others should have some extra time this week for a jam session or two, as Philadelphia is currently on its bye.
