Eagles Pro Bowlers speculate on their basketball proficiency

The world is full of would-be athletes who, in their minds, were one break away from making it to the big leagues.

But what about pro athletes? Do they believe they could jump into another sport and succeed at a high level? Thankfully, several members of the Philadelphia Eagles had a social media discussion about just that question.

Eagles standout wideout AJ Brown opened this particular can of worms, tweeting, "I think I can come off the bench and get 12 points."

While Brown did not elaborate or clarify whether he meant NBA or Final Four, his comment happened to spark the interest of cornerback Darius Slay.

Slay chimed in, adding fuel to the fire, saying he knew he could come into a game and drop a dozen.

Before these hoop dreams became too inflated, one of the team's leaders and an all-time Eagle, Jason Kelce, let his mates down easily.

First, Kelce responded to Brown with a fitting gif of a disapproving Mac from 'Always Sunny in Philadelphia.'

Then, Kelce took aim at Slay, replying, " I love you, no chance."

Thankfully for Eagles fans, neither Brown nor Slay will be taking to the hardwood anytime soon, as come the fall, they will once more be back on Lincoln Financial Field donning helmets and cleats, as intended.

We all know someone who believes they have some untapped potential and if everything had gone their way, they'd be the one fans pay to see. If you don't know someone like that, that person might be you.

Brown and Slay's discussion is a pleasant reminder that professional athletes sometimes think like those of us watching the game from the couch with a bag of chips.
