Eagles Projected to Add 1,000-Yard WR for Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles fell well short of defending their Super Bowl title. After going 11-6 and winning the NFC East, Philadelphia suffered a quick playoff loss. Going into the playoffs as the NFC's No. 3 seed, they lost at home to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round.

Once free agency began on March 11, general manager Howie Roseman quickly got to work. Philadelphia already has one of the NFL 's receiving duos with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, each recording 1,000 yards last year. Despite that, they still signed wide receiver Elijah Moore and Marquise Brown in free agency. Each looks to help boost the offense, which last season ranked 24th in total yards per game ( 311.2).

However, Rob Gregson, Brandon Little and Kyle Crabbs of A to Z Sports predict the Eagles aren't done making changes to the receiving corps. In a mock draft, they have Philadelphia selecting Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Chris Brazzell II with the No. 54 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

After two years with the Tulane Green Wave (2022 and 2023) and two with Tennessee (2024 and 2025), Brazzell put together his best performance last season. The redshirt junior hauled in 62 receptions for 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns, all of which are career highs. His Pro Football Focus overall grade of 79.4 ranked 65th out of 679 wide receivers in 2025.

While the Eagles have Brown under contract through the 2029 season and Smith through 2028, Brown has been the center of trade speculation. If Philadelphia were to move on from the three-time Pro Bowler, landing Hurts a new target could be crucial.

Coming off his first and only 1,000-yard season at the collegiate level, Brazzell would give the Eagles a promising young wide receiver to develop, even if Brown stays put.
