Reigning Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles will attempt to defend their crown this year in the NFL playoffs, starting with a wild card game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET.

The Eagles came into the 2025 season with a target on their back following last February's 40-22 triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs. The defending champs took some tough losses during the regular season, but their 11-6 record was good enough to win the NFC East. In 16 games, Hurts threw for 3,224 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also ran for 421 yards and eight scores.

Amid the intense scrutiny and media attention that followed their Super Bowl win, Hurts has managed to keep a relatively low profile in his private life. His wife, Bryonna "Bry" Burrows, is not on social media. Over the past year, Hurts' only public appearance with his wife was at the 2025 Met Gala.

In fact, nobody knew Hurts and Burrows got married in secret until the Eagles quarterback revealed the news months later in an exclusive interview with Men's Health magazine. "You can call her my wife," he said last April.

To oblige the long list of people who wanted to celebrate the happy couple, they decided to have a second wedding ceremony in Napa Valley in June. They maintained their privacy by "shutting down" a Four Seasons hotel for a long weekend with their guests, including recording artist Stevie Wonder.

The second wedding of the offseason would have stayed private, too, if not for a report from Page Six that included photos and details from the midsummer California soiree.

Hurts and Burrows met at the University of Alabama in 2016, where he played college football for three years before transferring to Oklahoma. Their relationship was not public until 2023, but Burrows played a “private but pivotal” role while Hurts began his NFL career, according to Essence.

Hurts has not said much about her in interviews, but a rare comment from the Eagles star last September revealed how tying the knot twice solidified his personal life heading into the new season.

“You know where your strength comes from,” Hurts said. “You know where your rock is. And those are the things that always give you encouragement anytime you step into something.”

On Sunday, Hurts will step into the 2025 NFL playoffs when the Eagles and 49ers kick off from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The game will be televised on FOX, with Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady on the call. If the Eagles win, they will go on the road to play the No. 2 Chicago Bears in the NFC divisional round.
