Eagles QB Jalen Hurts lands at number 3 on the NFL’s top 100 list

The NFL held their annual players ranking list where we saw six Eagles outside of Jalen Hurts make it. Last night they held their last program for the top 10 players in the league. With Hurts positioning yet to be announced, the world was waiting to hear where the Eagles QB1 would land in the eyes of his peers.

After the 5-10 was revealed, the speculation began. Then Nick Bosa was announced at number four which was then followed by the revelation that Jalen Hurts was ranked 3rd in the top 100. A huge honor for a player that wasn’t previously ranked. The moment his presentation came on you would see multiple players state that they believe he’s number one in the league which is an even bigger honor.

Saints LB Demario Davis said, “I think you gotta show love to Jalen Hurts.”

And he isn’t wrong. Not one bit.

After finishing the season with 3,701 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns, 760 rushing yards, and 13 rushing touchdowns, Jalen Hurts followed that up by leading his time to the Super Bowl after convincing wins over the Giants and the 49ers.

“He had the best performance in the Super Bowl that I’ve ever seen of a quarterback – running the ball, throwing the ball. He balled out,” stated Chiefs DT Chris Jones.

He isn’t wrong either. Jalen Hurts put the Eagles on his back in the biggest game of the year to only be let down by a defensive holding call. A call that had no place in that moment of the game. Hurts passed for 304 yards and rushed for another 70 yards while scoring 1 passing touchdown and 3 rushing touchdowns.

The Chiefs had no answer for Eagles QB Jalen Hurts and that was recognized by the number one player in the top 100, Patrick Mahomes. When speaking about Jalen’s ranking in the league, Mahomes stated, “I expect to play him in a lot of big games as my career goes on…”

An Eagles’ encore?

That may very well be the case as Hurts has made it clear throughout Training Camp that he has unfinished business. While many players use that kind of statement to show their motivation, Hurts seem to be more determined than you would expect. At only 25 years old, it looks like we have yet to see the best of the Eagles’ franchise QB.
