Joe Flacco signed with the Eagles this offseason, returning to an area he knows all too well. The Delaware Blue Hens legend is back in Pennsylvania and has wasted no time in giving back to the community.

Set to open this Summer, Joe Flacco has teamed up with construction technology company Nexii to open the first ever green building plant in Pennsylvania, generating upwards of 200 jobs in the Hazelton area. The plant will produce a sustainable concrete alternative in buildings that produce less than 50% of the climate pollutions of regular sites.

Flacco grew up in Audubon, NJ, and spoke passionately about wanting to help improve the economy of his hometown.

“Putting roots back down in my hometown is such a huge honor, and with that I’ve been given the opportunity to be a part of revitalizing an area of Pennsylvania that was once a thriving industrial neighborhood, but has since seen better times,” said Flacco in a press release today. “What really excites me about this project is the opportunity for job growth in the area. Nexii’s Hazleton plant will create 200 new, skilled green manufacturing jobs for the city and serve as a benchmark for building a greener future in Pennsylvania and beyond.”

The veteran quarterback joins the Eagles as the veteran in the room behind Jalen Hurts, having completed 55.2% of his passes last year for 864 yards, 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on what was a woeful Jets team. His fortunes look to be brighter in Philadelphia and it’s clear that green is still the color of focus for Joe Flacco, in more ways than one.
