Eagles' RB D'Andre Swift chimes in on future in Philly
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles players returned to the NovaCare Complex this morning to clean out their lockers and go through their exit interviews.

Some players also met briefly with the media for some final thoughts on the season.

One of them was running back D'Andre Swift, who was an unexpected bell cow for the Birds this year and logged his first 1,000-yard season.

Swift was asked whether or not if knew he would be returning in 2024 to run it back.

"With time we'll tell, I mean, we'll see," Swift said, via 94WIP's Eliot Shorr-Parks

The 24-year-old running back was also asked if his "goal or hope" was to return to Philadelphia next season.

"If the opportunity presents itself, we'll see when it gets there," Swift said.

Swift's tone sounds concerning, but he's likely still dealing with how the Eagles' season fell apart. Meanwhile, his old team, the Detroit Lions, advanced to the next round of the playoffs and will play host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday. That has to be hard to watch and process.

The Eagles acquired Swift last offseason via trade with the Lions.

Swift just wrapped up the last year of his rookie deal in Philly, which means he's on tap to hit the open free agency market come March if the Eagles choose not to re-sign him.

He finished the 2023 season carrying the ball 229 times for 1,049 yards with five touchdowns. He also added value to the passing game, catching 39 passes for 214 yards and another TD.
