The Philadelphia Eagles finished the 2025 season top of the NFC East with an 11-6 record, but their attempts to defend their Super Bowl LIX title fell to the wayside due to a neutered offense where they only scored 19 points against the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card.

The squad is undergoing a personnel change after a disappointing season finale, with players like A.J. Brown making possible exits from the team.

The offensive line was another cause of concern. The Eagles continued to feature a robust offensive line, but multiple bodies on the line considered walking away from the sport last season.

Lane Johnson briefly considered leaving the sport after winning two Super Bowl rings with the Eagles, but he reneged on his initial decision.

Another Eagles O-lineman who was feared to be leaving also made his announcement, and his choice will delight Philly sports fans.

Landon Dickerson Decides to Play Sixth Season With Eagles

NFL.com insider Ian Rapoport first broke the news that guard Landon Dickerson is committed to protecting Jalen Hurts under center for at least one more season.

Rapoport posted screenshots of Dickerson's post, where he shared pictures of him running out to Lincoln Financial Field and hyping up his teammates. He captioned the post with eagle emojis, and Lane Johnson was seen liking the post.

Reactions to the announcement were varied.

Multiple fans were delighted with the decision, commenting onRapoport's post with W's.

"Super Bowl back on..." another fan replied.

One non-Eagles supporter was delighted at the signing, but for a completely different reason. "EAGLES ARE COOKED LMAO," they wrote.

An Eagles fan mused about how difficult the position is if the 27-year-old guard was already thinking of calling it quits.. "That's wiled he was actually considering retirement," they began. "Life in the trenches isn't easy."

"Glad for him," another supporter expressed. "Wouldn't want to see him retire this early and after that last season. Still has a lot left in the tank."

One commenter highlighted Dickerson's value to the trenches. "Big news for Philly," they said. "Landon Dickerson is such a tone-setter up front, getting him back is huge for that offensive line and the locker room."

"That's huge for Philly," another non-Eagles fan commented. "You don't replace that kind of presence easily."

Dickerson is a three-time Pro Bowler who was integral in the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX win. He played for 15 regular-season games this year, committing five offensive line penalties.
