With multiple Philadelphia Eagles players getting big pay raises after winning the Super Bowl in February, it was only a matter of time before their head coach would reap the benefits as well.

On Monday, the Eagles announced on social media that head coach Nick Sirianni has been give a new multi-year extension. While the details of his new deal have not been announced, it's expected to put him in the conversation as one of the highest paid coaches in the NFL.

"As an organization, we have always strived to created a championship culture of sustained success," Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said in a released statement. "Nothing is more important to fostering such an environment than having tremendous leadership.

Nick has embodied everything we were looking for in a head coach since we hired him four years ago. His authentic style of leadership, football intelligence, passion for the game, and growth mindset have helped to bring out the best in our team. I am excited for what the future holds for the Philadelphia Eagles."

How Sirianni earned his big contract extension

Since leaving the Indianapolis Colts' coaching staff to take over as the Eagles' head coach, Sirianni has done nothing but win. His first season got off to a rocky start as the team went 2-5. A bye week sparked a turnaround that helped the Eagles finish at 9-8 and a playoff appearance.

After that season, Sirianni has led the Eagles to three consecutive seasons with 10+ wins and postseason appearances in each of them. He took Philadelphia to the Super Bowl in 2022 and 2024, as both instances were against the Kansas City Chiefs on the other side.

Eagles fans would like to forget the first one in 2022 after a devestating 38-35 loss to Kansas City. Back in February, it was a celebration as Sirianni helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl for the second time in franchise history.

Sirianni holds a 48-20 overall record and a 6-3 playoff record through four seasons. He is the second-winningest head coach in NFL history through his first four years, as former San Francisco 49ers head coach George Seifert had 52 wins.

The story of Sirianni will be told for years to come, as it is one of the legends. He went from being one foot out the door with the disastrous end to the 2023 season to being locked in as the head coach for a long time.

Eagles fans just hope Sirianni suffers the same fate Doug Pederson did after he won the Super Bowl.
