The second week of Philadelphia Eagles training camp has only one player catching headlines in two practices: rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell.
Eagles beat reporters have been praising Campbell this week for taking first-team reps with the team. He really got to showcase his skills on Tuesday, with Zack Baun out due to a back injury. Starting with 94 WIP's Eliot Shorr-Parks, who has been one of the biggest supporters of Campbell in training camp.
"It’s impossible to watch an Eagles practice and not notice Jihaad Campbell
He’s long, he’s fast, he covers a ton of ground and it seems he’s picking up quickly the mental part of the game
On Tuesday he made plays against Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert
Stock up on Campbell"

Next up is ESPN's Tim McManus, who specifically focused on his coverage skills.
"Jihaad Campbell is really starting to flash. It was the first day in pads and he brought some pop, knocking Dallas Goedert to the ground following a short pass on the left side. In 1-on-1s, he put a nice spin move on Montrell Johnson to shake free."

All indications suggest that Campbell is as good as advertised, with his versatility. The beat reporters have been raving about his size, length, and speed on the field as he has able to perform well in coverage and finding the ball carrier.
It was the same as what fans saw back in college at Alabama, as he got to show off his pass-rushing skills more off the edge. Campbell won't play that same role in Philadelphia, as he will be an inside linebacker.
The Eagles are still waiting for Nakobe Dean to recover, with his return timetable still unknown. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. had been taking first-team reps with the defense alongside Baun during the offseason and for part of training camp.
Campbell has found his way in the rotation at linebacker and has been performing well. He appears to have all the traits defensive coordinator Vic Fangio wants out of his defenders. Versatility is a key to what will make Campbell a great player in this defense.
Preseason can't come any sooner for the Eagles and the fan base, as all this hype during training camp and Campbell has made these next three games fascinating.
