Being the Super Bowl winners this past season, the Philadelphia Eagles made their first pick at the very end of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
But they were still able to get one of the best players in the entire class.
In a recent article by PFF, they rank every team's roster going into the 2025 season, and they also name a rookie to watch for each franchise. For the reigning Super Bowl champions, they list former Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell as a potential difference-maker.
"As if the Eagles needed any more defensive talent, the best linebacker in this year’s draft, Jihaad Campbell, fell right into their lap," PFF wrote. "Campbell was one of just six FBS linebackers last season to post at least an 80.0 PFF grade in run defense and coverage."
The Eagles had perhaps the best defense in the NFL this past season, so adding an electric young talent like Campbell will make their unit even scarier than it already is.
The 21-year-old linebacker did a little bit of everything in his final year with the Crimson Tide. He finished this past season with a very impressive 117 total tackles, with 12 of them being for a loss. But his versatility really shines by the fact that he had five sacks, as well as an interception, showing he can get it done in more ways than one.
Philadelphia is coming off of its second ever Super Bowl win, and Campbell will be looking to help them defend that Lombardi Trophy.
