Eagles rookie suffers concerning injury scare during training camp

The Philadelphia Eagles experienced an early training camp scare Saturday after rookie guard Jaeden Roberts appeared to suffer a significant left leg injury during practice.

Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the injury on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“#Eagles rookie guard Jaeden Roberts suffered what appears to be a significant injury to his left leg. The cart is out. The injury occurred during the last play of the developmental period.”

The injury occurred during the final play of the developmental portion of practice, with medical personnel bringing a cart onto the field to assist Roberts. The extent of the injury has not yet been announced by the Eagles.

Roberts entered training camp competing for a depth role along Philadelphia’s offensive line after joining the organization as part of its 2026 rookie class. The former college standout was looking to make an impression as the Eagles prepared for the upcoming regular season.

Philadelphia enters the 2026 campaign aiming to rebound after finishing as one of the NFC’s top seeds last season before falling short of another Super Bowl appearance. The Eagles have built one of the league’s deepest offensive lines in recent years, but any extended absence for a young lineman could impact the team’s depth entering the preseason.

The Eagles are expected to provide additional information on Roberts’ condition once he undergoes further evaluation.
