The Philadelphia Eagles remain one of the best drafting teams in the NFL, so much so that they can let high-priced, Super Bowl-winning free agents leave and replace them with a cheaper alternative. After losing Milton Williams this offseason, Moro Ojomo is ready to step up.
Ojomo was picked near the end of the seventh round in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he quickly proved to be much better than the common rabble selected at that spot. He may be nothing more than a quality backup at this point, but PFF is projecting some big things for No. 97.
Ojomo was named on Pro Football Focus' All-Breakout team ahead of the 2025 season, as they believe his past excellence as a pass rusher will be enough to help the Eagles shoulder the loss of Williams. Alongside Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, Ojomo will likely slide in as the No. 3 defensive tackle.
While numbers from a smaller sample size don't always manage to translate over to expanded reps (looking at you, Bryce Huff), Ojomo's ability to pressure the quarterback and tremendous motor should help the Nigerian-born starlet carve out a long-term role with this team.
Ojomo's overall 68.0 PFF grade ranked a respectable 39th overall among all defensive tackles in the league, but his 82.6 pass rush grade was fifth among all players at his position. At under 300 pounds, Ojomo's value is going to be derived almost entirely from his ability to pressure the quarterback.
Carter is a complete tackle who can do it all, while Jordan Davis' mammoth frame makes him an ideal space-eater for Philadelphia. What Ojomo brings to the table is the same Williams-like pass rush juice the New England Patriots paid over $100 million to lure away from the Eagles.
Ojomo might need to bulk up a bit before the season starts, as his success in the NFL will be almost directly related to his ability to defend the run when either Carter or Davis is on the bench. Without that skill, he may be nothing more than a very specific role player.
However, due to Philadelphia's history of constantly developing young players and smoothing out the rough edges in their game, fans should expect Ojomo to fly onto the scene and cement himself as a high-end Williams replacement during the Eagles' push for a second Super Bowl.
