This past Saturday, more than 7,000 folks came through in the clutch, far away from any gridirons or first down markers. City blocks were abuzz with palpable energy, as the 2025 Eagles Autism Challenge had droves of enthused participants showing up and showing out.
The countless winning plays on this fine day unfolded nestled deep within the storied streets of Philly.
With a clear cause pushing all forth, wave participants ran, walked, and worked their way through a bustling course chock-full of enthused brethren. Sheer strength in numbers and a collective sense of selflessness were once more in store for the reigning Super Bowl Champs.
When all was said and done, a record $10 million (the historical franchise best) had been raised in the ever-electric annual Autism Challenge. This is a mission, such a significant cause, long revered and always honored with both dignity and grace by Eagles Chairman and CEO, Jeffrey Lurie.
Heading into last weekend's time-honored tradition, this inspirational event has raised $20+ million since its inception in 2017. Just like the Eagles' platinum level success rate of late, with right notes being hit aplenty, this most recent off-the-field effort topped the acts of kindness charts, too.
Adding another big-time bullet point to his brief (one regular season and postseason) but already highly accomplished Eagles journey, linebacker Zack Baun has quickly become a relatable and reliable fixture throughout the City of Brotherly Love.
The overarching theme of team-over-one ideology continues to loom larger than ever. Not long after snagging a big Jordan Love toss in the Birds' home playoff tilt, then playing even better throughout the biggest spectacle in pro sports versus the Chiefs? Well, "The Bald Eagle" rose to the occasion once more; selfless impact, per usual.
What an integral member of the Eagles community - both within the confines of the NovaCare Complex as well as crucial events such as these already - Baun (top-five AP Defensive Player of the Year) has genuinely been a universal game changer—quite the first year around town and the entire football universe for the former Saint backup linebacker.
Stronger Together, Thru the Years
Familiar fundraising faces and voices have long included the beloved Brandon Graham (two-time Super Bowl champion, retired in 2025), the one and only Mr. Weapon X, Brian Dawkins (numerous elite achievements), and countless prime time performers. Of course, scores of revered Eagles who gave it their all have also tackled poignant missions,
Pretty cool stuff. We could list more and more big names, but let's surely celebrate the over 7,000 participants who pulled selfless weight in equally meaningful forms and fashions.
Countless families who are first-hand champions of this noble and powerful cause, folks from all walks who wanted to step up to support a cause that so many hold near and dear. And it proved to be a gorgeous occasion to do so.
The franchise's accomplishments—both in the loudest stadiums and the most poignant fundraisers, where such a positive impact resonates with equal fervor—grow by the day. There's just a family-centric feel that continues to reign supreme when it comes to all things Birds these days.
