The Philadelphia Eagles are adding some depth to their running back room in a move that could prove to be notable once training camp and preseason rolls around.

Philadelphia announced the signing of former San Francisco 49ers running back Tyrion Davis-Price on Tuesday. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Davis-Price is signing a reserves/future deal.

Davis-Price, 23, was selected by San Francisco in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft after a three-year collegiate career with the LSU Tigers.

In two seasons with the Niners, Davis-Price has appeared in seven games while posting 40 carries for 120 yards. Most of this production came as a rookie in 2022, as he had 34 carries for 99 yards in five games. He rushed for a career-best 33 yards on 14 carries in a Week 2 win over the Seattle Seahawks last season.

However, Davis-Price's production dipped significantly in 2023. In a running back room that featured Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason, he only recorded rushing stats in one game - a 42-10 blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5.

The personnel in the Eagles' running back room is far from set for next season. Barring some remarkable climb up the depth chart, Davis-Price will could potentially carve out a role on the practice squad or special teams.
