The Philadelphia Eagles continue to make roster moves ahead of the start of OTAs on May 30.

The Eagles announced Tuesday that they've signed former XFL and Carolina Panthers receiver Charleston Rambo while waiving offensive tackle Jarrid Williams in a corresponding move.

Rambo will now look to compete for an NFL roster spot once again after being an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers last year. The team waived him before the start of the season, as he played with the Orlando Guardians in the XFL this past season instead.

But Rambo has some familiarity with Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts, something that could benefit the young receiver if Hurts puts in a good word.

Rambo played three years with the Oklahoma Sooners before playing his final collegiate season with the Miami Hurricanes in 2021. But before he transferred, he played with Hurts during the quarterback's only season in Norman in 2019. In a receiving corps that also featured Dallas Cowboys pass-catcher CeeDee Lamb, Rambo proved to be one of Hurts' favorite targets, as he was second on the team in catches (43), receiving yards (743) and receiving touchdowns (five) while helping lead the Sooners to the College Football Playoff that year.

Despite a productive final few years in college, Rambo has had to settle for playing time in the XFL. This past season with the Guardians, he posted 35 catches for 430 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games. But he now has a chance to make the final roster and rejoin his former quarterback for good.
