Philadelphia Eagles starting defensive end Jalen Carter did not show up to media availability on Wednesday ahead of Super Bowl LIX.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Carter missed speaking with reporters due to an illness.
"#Eagles standout DL Jalen Carter missed his media availability today because of an illness, I’m told," Rapoport wrote on X/Twitter. "We’ll learn later about whether he participated in practice and if so, how much."

The good news is that the Eagles are still five days away from the big game, though Carter's illness will be something to monitor considering he is one of the team's leading sack monsters, and having him at full health will be important.
In his second season, Carter finished the year racking up 4.5 sacks, 42 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 16 QB hits, and two fumbles forced. Those numbers earned him a Pro Bowl nod and second-team all-pro honors.
As Rapoport noted, the Eagles return to practice on Wednesday where we will get a better feel for how Carter is doing once the injury report is released later that evening.
