The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing to make another run at the Super Bowl, but the hardware that proves they are defending champions has yet to arrive.
Like most NFL champions, the Eagles were supposed to receive their rings in June from their 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. With training camp quickly approaching, they are still waiting for the jewelry.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, there has been no update on when the production of the Eagles’ rings might be completed. That means the team will likely have to schedule their ceremony for some point during or close to training camp, which will begin on July 22.
For whatever reason, there have been some issues with Super Bowl rings in recent years. The Kansas City Chiefs had something factually inaccurate inscribed on their latest championship rings last offseason.
The Eagles probably would have preferred to turn the page from their championship earlier in the offseason, but a ceremony is not much use without rings. They will have to continue to patiently wait.
