The Philadelphia Eagles are flying high after winning the Super B md dmzdzowl last month in dominating fashion, taking down the Kansas City Chiefs and ending their bid for a three-peat.

The Eagles have suffered some significant losses in free agency after winning the title, as players like Milton Williams, Darius Slay and Kenneth Gainwell have all moved on to other teams.

On Friday, the Eagles lost another notable player to one of their main NFC conference rivals.

According to the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Lions are signing former Eagles defensive back Avonte Maddox. Maddox, a former fourth-round draft pick back in 2018, has spent his entire career with the Eagles to this point.

He'll join a new-look Lions team that is looking to bounce back after last year's loss to the Commanders in the divisional round of the playoffs. Detroit was arguably the best team in all of football during the regular season, but they left a bad taste in fans months after their early exit from the postseason .

The Lions are looking to get back to the NFC title game, where they ended their season with a loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The Lions, Eagles, 49ers and Cowboys have all know what it's like to meet one another with high stakes on the line, so Maddox should be right at home in Detroit.

Maddox broke up a pass in the Super Bowl to prevent the Chiefs from establishing momentum, as the Eagles rolled over them to pick up their second championship in franchise history.

The Lions are still looking for their first title, and they'll hope that their new signing can lead them to their first ever chance to even play in the Super Bowl, much less win it.

Detroit has been the NFL's punching bag for a large part of their history, but things are changing with coach Dan Campbell, quarterback Jared Goff and others turning the culture around.

We'll see if they can combine their talents together to become a championship team after signing Maddox and others in free agency during the offseason.
