Eagles' three-headed monster of Hurts, Sanders and Gainwell runs over Packers

The 10-1 Philadelphia Eagles had themselves a night against the Green Packers on "Sunday Night Football." What drove this resounding victory was the same formula the Eagles have used to win all season: running the ball.

The Eagles trampled over the Packers with 363 rushing yards. That is the most rushing yards in a game by the Eagles since a franchise record 376 in Week 10, 1948 against Washington, per NFL Research. The 1948 Eagles won the NFL Championship.

In all, the Eagles finished with 500 total yards. The Packers finished the game with 342, per ESPN.

There were many contributors to this record-breaking performance by the Eagles.

MVP candidate Jalen Hurts rushed for 157 yards, breaking the franchise record for most rushing yards by a quarterback. Michael Vick previously held the record with 130.

Hurts also became the first quarterback since 1950 to finish a game with 150-plus rushing yards, 150-plus passing yards and multiple passing touchdowns in the same game, per NFL Research.

Running back Miles Sanders continued his excellent play in his contract year by galloping for 143 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. It might be time for the Eagles to pay this man.

Backups Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott added into the mix with a combined 63 yards and a score.

This offensive onslaught by the Eagles is another reminder that they are going all-in in 2022.

But it wouldn't have been possible without a few unsung heroes. The offensive line played outstanding all night long, winning their matchups and opening holes for the skill players. In a postgame interview, Lane Johnson said it was "one of the best games I've been a part of."

The Eagles will try to keep the magic going as they face the Tennessee Titans next.
