Eagles Unsung Young Defender Predicted to Break Out Into Stardom

The Philadelphia Eagles take a lot of pride in their defense, as it was one of, if not the best in the NFL this past season.

And they could have another hidden star on the defensive line.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Matt Holder, he picks one player who he believes is every team's best-kept secret. For the reigning Super Bowl champions, he thinks that player is third-year defensive tackle Moro Ojomo.

"This one is a projection, as Ojomo hasn’t gotten much playing time during his first two NFL seasons," Holder writes. "However, he was productive on limited opportunities last year... Especially with the Eagles letting Milton Williams walk during free agency, don’t be surprised if the Texas product turns heads with an increased role in Philadelphia this fall."

The Eagles already have a number of very solid players on the defensive line, including Pro Bowler Jalen Carter. So having another player contributing could be scary for opposing quarterbacks.

Ojomo has only started in one game in his first two NFL seasons, but he has been solid when he has been given an opportunity. The 23-year-old recorded 31 total pressures on 268 pass-rush snaps, making the most of the time on the field he was given.

Philadelphia is looking to defend the Lombardi Trophy in 2025, so having a good defense will help tremendously with that. If Ojomo can take a step up and improve in his third season in the league, it could make the Eagles' defense even scarier than it already is.
