The Eagles remain undefeated after continuing their winning streak over the Kansas City Chiefs. As the team transitions into a bit of a youth movement on defense, two members of the 2025 rookie class led from the front in their 20-17 victory over Kansas City.
Campbell put together another solid performance in Week 2, registering seven tackles and a QB hit against Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs. Campbell played all but two defensive snaps. Six were spent on the edge, nine were pass-rush attempts, continuing to show the versatility the Eagles needed. Per Pro Football Reference, Campbell has yet to give up a completion in pass coverage as well. Overall, Campbell put up another solid performance in Week 2, instilling more confidence in the rookie linebacker with a bright future.
Grade: B
What a coming-out party for Andrew Mukuba. The rookie safety put together a six-tackle, half-sack, and one-interception performance in Week 2, rebounding from a rough start in the game, where it was clear he was struggling in coverage early on. Mukuba demonstrated once again why the Eagles are so high on him, and could be a contender for postseason accolades if he continues to stay healthy.
Grade: A
Mondon once again didn't wow or record a statistic for Philadelphia, but he did contribute 15 snaps on special teams. Mondon is a late-round draft pick who has now carved out a role on special teams. He has yet to appear on the defensive side of the ball.
Grade: C-
Cooper saw an increased role on offense this week, appearing in 12 offensive snaps and five special teams snaps. Cooper saw more action at receiver than John Metchie III, which could tell us that the rookie undrafted free agent has a bit more of an understanding of the playbook. Cooper, despite an increased offensive role, did not get targeted once.
Grade: C
Robinson made his NFL debut on Sunday, logging four snaps on special teams. A slight disappointment considering his potential upside, Robinson is still looking for his first bit of action in the Eagles' interior defensive line rotation.
Grade: D
Overall, the Week 2 rookie draft gets a passing grade. With the emergence of Mukuba and the consistent play of Jihaad Campbell, the Eagles already have two stars in the making. There is some hope for even more contributors with Darius Cooper's increased workload, but it seems that Ty Robinson and Mondon are set to be special teams pieces barring injury.
Overall Grade: A-
