In his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles, wide receiver A.J. Brown has already engrained himself into the city's culture by jumping on the Philadelphia Phillies World Series bandwagon.
With Bryce Harper's colossal NLCS-clinching home run still lingering in the Philly air, it was naturally a topic of conversation when Brown met with reports on Wednesday.
Like many disappointed Padres fans, Brown wonders why teams continue pitching to the Phillies All-Star slugger.
"I don't understand why people are still pitching to Bryce Harper," Brown said. "It's something really serious when you're seeing the baseball and you can hit any pitch. I think that's where he's at right now."
While best known for his skills on the football field, Brown has an extensive background in baseball. After a standout high school career, the aforementioned Padres selected Brown in the 19th round of the 2016 MLB Draft and still own his rights.
Brown's take on Harper's play is spot on, as the two-time MVP is currently in a groove like no other. Through 11 postseason games, Harper is batting .419/.444/.907 with five home runs and 11 RBI.
While Harper has grown into the face of the Phillies franchise, Brown is quickly ascending to fan-favorite status in Philly.
Acquired in a trade with the Tennessee Titans for first and third round picks back in April, Brown has already proven his worth through only six games in midnight green.
Brown is averaging 15.2 yards per catch and has recorded 33 receptions for 503 yards and two touchdowns.
